When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder

by Christian Hymn : James M. Black

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound,
and time shall be no more.
And the morning breaks eternal bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather
over on the other shore
and the roll is called up yonder,
I'll be there.

Chorus:
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the foll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
I'll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning
when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather
to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder,
I'll be there.

(Chorus)

Let us labor for the Master
from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over,
and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder,
I'll be there.

(Chorus)

GOOD ATTEMPT
by: Victor Kachoka

Thank you for this addition. I like the song very much because it makes me look forwad to the resurrection day when my roll will be called. It also encourages me to live my christianity in order for me to be found there when the roll will be called.

However, I have two observations to make. the first is that this hymn, as I know it from the S.D.A.H., Number,216 to be specific, it has three stanzas and only one chorus. How come in this version, the third stanza in S.D.A.H. has been designated as a CHORUS? Secondly, I would have liked to read the background of this hymn. What caused the auther to write the words of this song. Please feel free to phone me on 00447557818916 or write me and post to 18 Glenhurst Rd. Southend-on-sea, Essex SS2 DDS
