We hear Christmas carols sung in churches all over the world on Christmas day. Before the holiday seasons, choirs will be practicing these Christian Christmas songs and preparing for the big annual Christmas celebration.
I love these endearing carols. They bring to us the wonderful message of the birth of Jesus Christ - how and where He was borned and most of all, the reason for His birth. |
In my country, weeks before 25th of December (Was Jesus really born on Christmas day? That deserves another article and I will try to write and post it soon), the streets downtown are brightly lighted up with Christmas decorations; huge and small Christmas trees, snowmen, Santa and his reindeers, and colorful ornaments hanging from trees, lamp-posts and ceilings so big your arms can't wrap round about each.
Along the streets outside shopping malls and facing where shoppers sit to rest their weary feet, carolers sweetly sing to bring the good news to all who would take a moment to listen.
What a joyous occasion!
Each and every one of these songs has a message; in fact the same old old story told and re-told again and again every Christmas everywhere down the ages.
Indeed, the hymn writers skilfully brought forth the all wonderful message of the birth of Christ and the salvation He brings to mankind in each of these Christmas hymns; generally referred to as Christmas carols.
My heart sings when I hear the music with the message ringing forth: the wondrous love of a God who sought out His people with the most precious gift ever given to man.

It Came Upon the Midnight Clear
While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night

How good it is to sing praises to our God,
